Your First Visit

Rachel will welcome you and make you feel at home! We are here to help! You will be greeted by Rachel who will walk you through the signing in process. She will get you comfortable with the office by giving you a short tour. She will than walk you to the consultation room where she will explain to you our short form which you will use to tell us about you and what your health concerns are. After you complete the form Rachel will review it with you and answer any questions about the form. A welcome to our office and other reading material will be provided for you to further familiarize yourself with us and with chiropractic as Rachel brings your information for the me to review before our consultation.

Whats a consultation? Because some people come to us unsure of what chiropractic is we have set our procedures to work in stages. The consultation is where you tell me about your health concerns and I tell you what I do and if  chiropractic may be of any benefit to you. Only after this exchange of information has occurred will we discuss performing any chiropractic evaluation or need for special tests.

After you have decided to continue, a complete and thorough chiropractic evaluation will be performed. When the evaluation is completed, if the need for special test is needed a referral to the appropriate place will be made. A report of findings will be prepared which will be written as well as verbally reviewed with you on your second visit.

Your first visit will last between 30 minutes to an hour depending on how many people (single vs. family appointment) and how many questions this web site already answered for you. It may seem a little daunting in writing, but you and you family are worth the thoroughness, time, and extra thought that should go into developing your care plan. You are important to us and we pride ourselves on being efficient and courteous.

Dr. Perry Asks some important questions of interest to Sioux Falls residents - Chiropractor Sioux Falls Dr. Perry Asks...

Why is a "slipped disc" unlikely?
Separating each spinal vertebra is a disc. Its fibrous outer ring holds in a jelly-like material. Because of the way a disc attaches to the spinal bones above and below it, it can't actually "slip." However, a disc can bulge, tear, herniate, thin and collapse. But it can't slip.
Do nerves actually get pinched?
Chiropractors recognize two types of nerve disorders involved in vertebral subluxation. The least common is a pinched nerve that diminishes nerve supply to an affected organ or tissue. More common is the irritated nerve (facilitative lesion) which overexcites nerve communications to an affected organ or tissue. Chiropractic care has been shown to help with both types.
